Gaming Laptop VS Prebuilt PC VS DIY PC

When it comes to gaming on the PC there are many ways to do experience it. Most commonly we usually see PC Gaming as an expensive hobby with a computer easily costing thousands of dollars. However, I would like to point out you could game on a laptop specificially designed for gaming due to the hardware contained. Or if you would like a PC to game on but are unsure on what to parts are required then you can get a prebuilt one. Today I'll be going through the pros and cons of a Gaming Laptop, Prebuilt PC and a custom pc that you are able to do yourself. Hopefully this will highlight them and help you decide on what you want to game on.

Gaming Laptop

Gaming Laptops are often configured to include the hardware for it to be able to run games. It's pretty common to see a laptop sporting something made from Nvidia or AMD to remind it's processing power. They also come with the memory to store and handle various games. Let's go in the pros and cons of them.

A pro about the gaming laptop is that it's portable which allows for essentially a mini-pc everywhere you go. They also come handle games quite well as the modified graphics card for the laptop is on-par with the desktop variant. They're also sometimes cheaper than a desktop since the accessories you often have to purchase for a desktop are already built into the laptop. Another benefit is that you could also treat it like a fancier laptop with all the features that makes it so unique.

Sadly there are plenty of cons to a gaming laptop. One major pro I can confirm is that gaming laptops often have issues with overheating. This is due to the restricted space that the hardware is in and the lack of effective cooling options so it's common for them to lose their edge after a while. A lack of customization is also a thing to note as you can't really upgrade anything beside maybe the memory but often times that is a hassle. Despite the notable thing about the gaming laptop being portable, its often noted that they have poor battery lives and often require a charger nearby in order to peak max peformance without your laptop dying in an hour after playing some games.

Prebuilt PC

Prebuilt PCs are some what of an intermediary from the DIY and Laptops. You kind of get the best of both worlds with it. However you also can experience some of the problems that both systems face. Lets get into them.

One pro that I can come up with the top of my head is that this is a friendly option for those who aren't tech-savy as this already as components that are necessary for a gaming desktop to work. Another benefit is the warranty you get from purchasing one of them as if something occurs in the laptop you don't have to hassle multiple companies and could just call the supplier of the prebuilt PC. They also run as good as laptops if we compare peformance overall.

One of the cons of a Prebuilt gaming PC is the fact that the components that come with it might not be what you really wanted. Often times we can see prebuilt PCs with somewhere they could be lacking whether its the memory, the processors, or even sometimes the cooling system. If you want to try and improve these systems, often times they can also be hard to upgrade as they often are designed with the starting specs rather than any adjustments. Then again this refers more or less to extreme changes, you can most likely add RAM to your computer with ease. There are also a couple other things such as a shorter lifespan than a custom PC and how one tiny mistake in the product could easily break your pc.

DIY PC

Last on our list is the PC that you are able to build yourself. This is the main goal we all dream off when it comes to gaming as it allows our personalization to grace our hobby. There are plenty of benefits however there are some noticable cons. Lets go over them.

One of the biggest pros I can say about a DIY PC is the fact that you are able to make it how you like it. You have free range on what parts you want and how you plan on putting them on there. Maybe you want a simple PC to play minecraft or a godly PC that can run colors you sure don't even exist. You can charge yourself however you like and design the exterior to however you like.

The freedom you get is pretty good but there are some cons I would like to highlight. One con is that it's more or less reccommended you get some help for building your PC as inexperience may be your downfall. Another thing is that the warranties you get from a prebuilt are no longer to be found in a custom pc as you have to call each individual manufacturer yourself rather than one company. Also some scarcity of parts may deter you from getting the parts you want.

When it comes to gaming on a pc there are mainly three ways to do so. You could get a gaming laptop, a prebuilt PC, or a custom pc that you built yourself. Now what system would I reccomend? Well that sort of depends what you value as they offer plenty of ways to expereince gaming. Maybe you want something thats more portable or maybe you want a rig that can run time itself. The best thing about PC gaming is the freedom you have and I believe whatever choice you make, you are able to experience that feeling.
