Five gaming headsets that I recommend for 2022

Audio is an important feature in a majority of video games today. Whether it's hearing a callout by one of your teammates, hearing the environment as you journey through a digital world, or listening to a killer soundtrack as you battle the final boss, audio will enhance your experience overall. Now it's important that you don't blare out your speakers with what you playing, trust me I've received plenty of noise complaints about playing Guitar Hero a little too late into the night. This is where headsets come in as you are able to communicate effectively due to a built-in mic, while also receiving enhanced sound quality that won't wake your neighbors or roommates up. I'm going to present to you five of the gaming headsets I recommend. There isn't a particular order since I'll be going based on what makes them unique such as if it's the best bang for your buck or which one has the best audio quality.

1. SteelSeries Arctis 7 - The best overall headset

Price: $169.00

SteelSeries is well known for a lot of gaming equipment such as their keyboards and mice. However, their Arctis headsets are easily some of the best in the market. The SteelSeries Arctis 7 is their latest model and it honestly has almost everything nailed down just right. The audio is atmospheric, the mic works great, it's light on your head, and it's wireless so you don't have to get it tangled with other cords. This is one perfect headset. The only con I would say about the headset is the price is pretty expensive and since it's technically wireless, once you hear that low battery sound it becomes another wired headset. However, there are some past Arctis models that work wonders. I personally use the Arctis 1 and it's about $100 dollars less but still provides many of the benefits, just to a lesser extent since it's not the hot new thing.

2. Razer Kraken V3 X - Best headset for the wallet

Price: $69.99

Razer is often seen as a luxury brand when it comes to gaming. Often than not they make great products whether it's keyboards, mice, laptops, face masks, or energy drinks. However, they've been known to overcharge on some of their products. This headset price point is surprisingly cheap to what they usually create. This light headset provides great audio and microphone quality for its price. The only problem I've heard from this is that the spatial sound it offers is somewhat inconsistent and it's wired which may be a con for those who prefer wireless. Those cons are really small as the benefit you're getting is defiantly worth the price point.

3. Audeze Penrose X - A high-end headset for the audiophiles

Price - $299.00

Audeze is really putting the "au" in audio with this headset! The audio that comes from this headset really encapsulates you into any game you play, increasing your experience overall. The mic works great, it's comfy to wear, and it's wireless so you could connect to any other device. The only cons that I've noticed are that the battery life is quite short at around 15 hours so you might have to charge it more frequently. Not to mention the price point could easily cover your grocery bill for a couple months. Then again if you want to go all out, this is probably the best headset to do it with.

4. Logitech G PRO X Gaming Headset - The lightest in the market

Price - $129.00 (It's on sale as of May 24th, 2022 for $99.00)

Logitech has always had a place in my heart as they've been one of the brands that I've connected to the most when it came to my journey into pc gaming. They often have a wide selection of products for gaming. If you need any accessories for your rig, then they probably have them. Their headsets are also great as this is one of their lightest yet. This provides tons of comfort if you end up playing longer than you planned which will definitely reduce a headache from staring at a screen for a long period of time. Other features are great as the mic works well and the audio is decent. Though there have been some reports that the bass is often weak at times. If you are trying to find the equivalent of wearing clouds on your head while you game, this is the product for you.

5. Cooler Master MH630 - RGB Galore!

Price - $89.99

When I first heard of Cooler Master, I honestly thought it was a mini-fridge company. I had no idea they had an arsenal of not only gaming accessories but also equipment for your PC to keep on running with coolants and fans. They also have an interesting take on headsets with this model. The RGB elements allow for tons of personalization to benefit your pc setup, allowing you to let your headset glow the entire rainbow if you please! The audio and microphone are a bit above industry standard but with this price point, it's definitely worth investing in!

Well, those were my recommendations for gaming headsets to hopefully cover any qualities that you may want. I'll post the links to where you can find deals on these headsets as well as other headsets in general. If there is a headset you would recommend feel free to let me know in the comments. Otherwise, game on with great gear!
